3 Day HSE Approved First Aid Training Course
Medrock Training can offer a full HSE Approved on site First Aid course, which can be completed in 3 days either consecutively, or 3 seperate days providing the full course is completed within 13 weeks from Day 1. The course takes three full days and uses the very latest in multimedia presentation, combining theory with hands-on practical and role-play exercises. All individuals who are successful in passing this course will receive an industry recognised HSE Approved First Aid at Work Certificate, valid for 3 years. At the end of the course candidates will be competent in the following:
- Managing an incident
- Dealing with accidents and illness
- Basic life support (CPR – adults and paediatric)
- Regulations
- Aims and objectives of first aid
- First aid priorities
- Prioritising casualties
- Using a First Aid kit
- Simple record keeping
- Resuscitation
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty
- Examining a casualty
- Choking
- Treatment of a heart attack
- Control of bleeding
- Burns and scalds
- Poisoning
- Fractures
- Shock
Who should attend?
Any person who has been designated by their employer as a first aider at work. All employers in the UK have a legal obligation under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 to make First Aid provision for their employees.

Course Duration
3 days (or a total of 18 hours instruction)
Assessment
Multiple-choice question paper and practical skills test.
Certificate
An HSE-Approved certificate valid for three years is issued on completion of assessment.
Before expiry of this certificate, students must undertake a two-day HSE Approved Refresher course, which will then re-authorise their certification for a further three years. Students are strongly recommended to undertake a short 3 hour refresher course at the 12 and 24 month point
Students of the Three Day First Aid at Work and the Two-Day Refresher course will receive a high quality and appropriate First Aid Manual.
